IDEA
A Meeting Point, a place where a group of people meet on a regular basis or just as adesignated place where people can gather. For the 23th Arquine Architectural Competition, the chosen design for the “Meeting Point”, came up as the main concept with the literal definition and shape of it.
The architecture for the Pavilion takes form on four mirrored Identical Curved Walls which on the middle create a central space between them that generates an intimate space for the user, a place for meditation, appreciation but also who gathers the main idea of a Meeting Point. On the outsided curves, generated by the “cross-shaped” of the Pavilion, it creates four agoras, which gives the opportunity to create a “Meeting Place” where users can gather round, as a much simplier definition, to give the Pavilion a real meaning for the City as what it is, a Meeting Point.
The materials chosen for the Pavilion consists on a special shaped prefabricated grey concrete “bricks” united by aluminium tubes remarked by a chromed ring with tilting steel cables which enmarks the interior space of the Pavilion.
