Inspired by the most impressive Agave Landscape in Mexico, heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2006, Tequila, Jalisco is the one chosen to develop Casa Agave. Located 6.8km from Tequila (City), in Santa Ana, a town belonging to Tequila, rises from the earth like an agave rhizome.
Casa Agave retakes 5 different edges for its conceptualization, first The Agave Landscape as mentioned before, The Agave as a living organism; understand its processes, its historical evolution, but also, admire its anatomical beauty and take it up again in the architecture of the project, The Colonial Architecture behind the productive cultures of the agave, mainly the tequila industry, shapes the design of Casa Agave. And last but not less important, "Entre la Piedra y la Flor", poetry written by Octavio Paz in 1941, where he narrates the splendor of the agave and its landscape, which is interpreted in the project.
We tried to avoid as much as possible to hinder the Landscape, for which the conclusion was reached of the construction of an “Anti-Building”, which consists of planting the project underground.
